OK SOOOOoo im stuck, i want to create a movable paper doll without using brackets. This is the "prettiest" way i could go about doing it but i think it may also be the lamest way.. what do you guys think. basically the dumbbells slide up and down. it is attached to a piece of paper which goes through a slit in the body where you can slide it up and down...?? im lost..

I think you are in the right direction, maybe some version of a pull-tab? or you can have the torso as one unit, then draw 2 arms connected to a set of dumbells and have the person glue the ends of the arms to the shoulders and it goes up and down? also really simple...
